How clients use the Visual Notes from live Graphic Recording?

Live Graphic Recording has many amazing benefits; it helps to focus and engage your attendees, and makes information more memorable for all visual learners. Although it is undoubtably an impactful experience during a conference, workshop or meeting, the question might arise, what about post-event?

Sharing Visual Notes after Live Graphic Recording

In my experience, you can gain incredible (and often unexpected) extra value from Graphic Recording if you use these Visual Notes well after the event. So here it goes!

Ways to use the Visual Notes after Live Graphic Recording

  • Share the Visual Notes on Social Media

LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram are the platforms I see my Visual Notes on the most often. Sometimes clients share the entire piece, at other times, they just zoom into parts of it.

These visual notes are rather different from most things you come across on social media, they are generally received really well! With our social media feeds getting filled with unimaginative and AI-created content, it's quite a treat to come across an engaging, hand-drawn piece of art full of valuable insights.

  • Share the Visual Notes in the follow-up email or your newsletter

If you're planning to send an email thanking the attendees for joining, it's a great way of sharing the Visual Notes, while also summarizing the key takeaways of the event

  • Feature the Graphic Recording on the website

As the Visual Notes are most often created with your brand colors, they should look great on your website as well! You can use it as a banner across your pages, or feature the image in a blog post sharing about your event!

  • Print the Visual Notes

These Visual Notes can decorate the office walls after the event, or can be handed out to attendees of the event. If you choose to print them in a postcard size, they can be a great gift for everyone following the event.

They can even be printed on big banners - the Graphic Recording below now gets to travel the UK with the NHS Teaching Hospital's Nursing & Midwifery team!

  • Kick off following events and meetings with your Visual Notes

Sharing these visual notes on a big screen is a common way of starting a following meeting. It's often how we'd kick off the second day when I'm Graphic Recording at a multi-day conference. It's a great way to summarize what you've been through, set the mood, and pick up where you left off!

  • Use them as 'Graphic Records' of your event

If you have visual note-taking for a series of events, or invite me yearly for an annual conference, these Visual Notes make it easy and enjoyable to compare the key themes and ideas across the events! Sometimes clients would bring printed versions of previous years' Visual Notes to place on the conference walls. It brings people together and serves as a great touchstone for conversation.

  • Build Strategic Visuals based on the Live Graphic Recording piece

Your meeting may have elicited many great insights, and my Visual Notes will be a real-time translation of how the conversation went. However, you might want to take some time to think about the details and build a new cohesive piece with added information. We often take these Visual Notes and use them to build an infographic, a strategy visual, or a journey map!
